Do I have to pay any customs duties or fees?

No you don’t.

As the orders are printed locally within your country, you do not have to pay any customs duties.
We do withhold local taxes and the prices on the product page are inclusive of all taxes.

What payment methods do you accept

We accept credit card payments using Paypal.

All credit cards issued by MasterCard, Visa and American Express are accepted.
We currently do not accept cards issued by providers other than these three.

How long will the product last

Your Looking at Sound artwork will last for years, if not decades, when cared for properly, and kept away from direct sunlight and damp environments.

Where are your printing facilities?

To ensure an environmentally efficient operation, we work with printing partners in over 20 countries. Each printing facility is local to you. This also ensures your one-of-a-kind Looking at Sound artwork arrives at your address faster.

Placing an order

My order is a gift. Can you remove the invoice?

We do not include a physical invoice with the order. The invoice is emailed to the email ID with which the order is placed. 

Can I add a custom note to the order?

Unfortunately, we currently don’t have an option to add a custom note. We are working to bring this option to our customers soon!

What kind of packaging do you use?

In order to reduce CO2 emissions, we have partnered with multiple local partners around the globe.

To keep the quality and experience consistent, we chose an eco-friendly and minimal packaging option.

How will my framed-poster package arrive?

Your package will contain both the print and the frame shipped together, with the print inside it’s own protective sleeve.
We don’t offer a framing service yet and our customers have to frame it themselves

Do you ship to my country

We currently ship to 17 countries.

Australia, Austria, Brazil, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Spain, UK, USA, Russia.

If you don’t find your country in this list, please don’t worry. We are always in conversations with potential print partners from multiple countries and hopefully we’ll be able to print and ship within your country very soon.

We don’t deliver to PO box addresses, or Military Bases.

How long would it take for my order to be delivered

Delivery ETA for your order is visible both on the product page and also when checking out. 
Most orders are typically delivered within 5-7 business days.

I never received my order. Is it lost?

It is possible that your order has been delivered to a local pickup point, or that your order has been returned to us.

Here are some things you can check for :

  • Look for an attempted delivery note
  • See if someone else has accepted the delivery on your behalf (family members, building concierge, neighbours, colleagues etc)
if you are still not able to locate your parcel, please contact us – help@lookingatsound.com and we’ll do our best to help you out.

Do I have to pay any customs duties or fees?

No you don’t.

As the orders are printed locally within your country, you do not have to pay any customs duties.

What would happen if I was unable to receive the order?

Please do let us know if you were unable to receive your order. Write to us - help@lookingatsound.com


In a situation like this, we'll get in touch with our courier partners and try to arrange for your order to be shipped out to you again. 

Can I change my delivery address

If you would like to make a change to your delivery address, please get in touch with us (help@lookingatsound.com) within two hours of placing your order and we will change this in our system.

Unfortunately, we cannot make these changes if your order has already been shipped.

Returns, Refunds and Cancellations

Can I cancel my order after placing it?

We totally understand that you might want to reconsider.

However, In order to ensure that our customers receive the orders as soon as possible, we start processing our orders after 2 hours of receiving them.
So, if you want to cancel, please reach out to us at help@lookingatsound.com within 2 hours of placing the order.

There is no cancellation post 2 hours of placing the order. Please don’t forget to add your orderid in the email.

Can I return my frame?

Due to the custom nature of the product, we won’t be able to accept any returns or exchange requests. However, if you’re unhappy with your order, please feel free to reach out to us at help@lookingatsound.com

The theme I received is different from what I ordered. Can you fix this?

We apologise for this issue. It doesn’t happen often. If there is a mismatch in the theme you received, please write to us at help@lookingatsound.com within 5 days of receiving your order.

We’ll ensure that the right one reaches out! Please don’t forget to add your order id and product images in the email.

The frame I received is different from what I ordered. What do I do?

Sorry about this, it doesn’t happen often. Sometimes to delight our customers, we do upgrade them to a larger size.
However, if you’ve received a smaller size or are not happy with receiving a larger size, please write to us at help@lookingatsound.com within 5 days of receiving your order.
We’ll ensure that the right one reaches out! Please don’t forget to add your order id and product images in the email.

My product arrived damaged. What do I do now?

This not the experience we wanted you to have. 

If your product has arrived damaged, please contact us immediately (help@lookingatsound.com) and we'll make it right for you.

Along with the order ID, please also include images of the product and the packaging in the email. 

I want to change the contact information after placing my order. Can I do this?

If you would like to make a change to your contact information or to your delivery address, please get in touch with us (help@lookingatsound.com) within two hours of placing your order and we will change this in our system.

Unfortunately, we cannot make these changes if your order has already been shipped.

The Design

How do you create the waveform of the song I've provided to you?

First step - We use technology to generate a unique digital heartbeat of the song. i.e a barebones, but scientifically accurate black and white waveform of the song is generated. Every song has a distinct waveform signature. 

Following this step, a digital artist renders the theme you have chosen over the black and white waveform, transforming it into a stunning piece of art. 

The image of your final waveform is then sent over to our printing partners located in your country, who then print the wave art on museum grade quality paper using archival ink. The final product is then shipped to you, 


Do different songs have different waveforms

Yes, absolutely. Every song has a distinct waveform. 

Unless two songs are absolutely identical note for note, second for second, no two waveforms will ever be identical. 

This ensures that your Looking at Sound artwork is a unique one of kind gift for you or your loved ones. 

What are themes

Themes are the design in which your song's waveform is generated. Think of it as a skin or a template which is applied to your song's waveform. 

At any point of time, we offer close to two dozen themes.

Our themes are one of a kind designs created in-house inspired by elements in nature, pop culture, or human emotions. Themes are often phased out and new ones introduced. 

QR Code - tell me all about it

We provide customers with the option of inserting a QR code in their waveform artwork. 

The QR code contains the song you requested the artwork for. 


All you have to do is point your phone camera to the QR code - it opens a link and your song will be played.
There is no restriction on the number of times you can play your song. 

In case you do not want the QR code in the artwork, simply select the "No" option for QR code in the product page. You'll recieve your waveform artwork without the QR code. 


The Product

How long will the product last

Your Looking at Sound artwork will last for years, if not decades, when cared for properly and kept away from direct sunlight and damp environments.

How do I tend to my product - Care instructions

Both framed artwork and canvasses should be kept away from direct sunlight and away from damp environments.

While it’s lovely to have art in the bathroom, it’s important to know that even a framed and sealed artwork can eventually develop mould in a damp environment.

For canvas and for framed posters without plexiglass – dust gently with a dry micro-fiber cloth or any clean soft rag. Do not use wet cloth, polish or chemical solvents in any circumstance.

For framed posters with a plexiglass covering, use a micro-fiber cloth to softly wipe it down. You can lightly dampen the cloth with a bit of isopropyl alcohol or an ammonia-free glass cleaner like windex. 

For posters, use a dry micro-fiber cloth or any clean soft rag and dust gently. 

How do you ensure product quality

Our network of print partners are carefully reviewed and only a small percentage of them make the cut. 


When it comes to the printing itself, multiple factors influence the colour, consistency and final result - machine type, machine setting, paper type, humidity in the room, when the machine was last cleaned - just to mention a few examples. 


Printing is a chemical process, and one can never achieve 100% consistency. But by printing on the same print machines, the same paper types, and by implementing strict working processes at the print houses, we're able to get as close to perfect as possible. 

Is the product waterproof

The canvas products are not waterproof. 

All framed posters are waterproof. They have a plexiglass covering on them. 
However, keeping them for long in damp environments will likely cause water damage to the product. 

Posters are not 100% waterproof.
We use uncoated matte paper to ensure a glare free, natural look that brings out the sharpness and clarity of the inks. A consequence of this - the paper does not have an additional protective coating on top.
Please ensure that posters are kept away from damp environments. 

What sizes do you offer

We offer a range of sizes, to fit any room and any mood. The exact sizes that we offer may differ based on the country you’re located in.

However, the most common sizes we offer are :
16 inches x 24 inches
20 inches x 30 inches
24 inches x 36 inches 
28 inches x 40 inches

Can I order a custom size

No. At the moment, we don’t offer a custom size.

What kind of paper and ink is used to print my waveform artwork

We use FSC certified museum-grade paper. Its robust and heavy - weighing 180 gsm to ensure longevity and make your art last for decades. 


The ink is an eco-friendly ink that pops-out every small detail and our matte texture ensures that your artwork is glare free! 

Sustainability and Charity

Do you partner with external organizations or charities?

Yes, we do. 

10% of all margins are diverted to support individuals suffering from hearing impairments. Our partner of choice is Suniye - suniye.in 

India is currently home to over 15 million hearing impaired individuals. 
Suniye helps them acquire language skills, learn to talk, go to schools and become a part of mainstream society.
